The IT landscape continues to evolve, and this pace of evolution has accelerated with the increased use of public cloud and its associated services, requirements and demands.
The Flexera State of ITAM Report provides insight into who uses ITAM, ITAM usage statistics, and the expanding roles and responsibilities of ITAM practitioners around the globe. Five hundred global ITAM decision makers and practitioners provided insight into their organizations’ ITAM journeys, and how they adapt to ITAM challenges as their IT environments change. This evolving IT landscape creates the demand for new initiatives and areas of focus across the ITAM teams of these organizations.
With the rise in consumption of external IT services, ITAM teams have seen increased spend, as well as waste, in their usage of SaaS.
To address this increased spend on cloud and cloud-related services, many ITAM teams are requesting inclusion into their organizations’ cloud center of excellence (CCOE), thus expanding their role (and their visibility) within their organization. Inclusion in the CCOE empowers ITAM practitioners to have a more prominent seat at the table with decisions related to software spend in both the cloud and other non-on-premises IT services. In fact, over 80 percent of global ITAM respondents indicated that a member of their team participates and/or contributes to their CCOE team.
These insights and more are presented in this year’s Flexera State of ITAM Report. Download the report today to learn more about these topics, and to gather additional insights into the challenges, focuses, initiatives and metrics global ITAM teams are undertaking as they continue to adjust and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of their ITAM practices.
